Misspellings - Friend or Foe?
Misspellings - Friend or Foe?
Friend
Writing a page based on common misspellings in your industry can help your website be found for these terms.
Well-known fact that people misspell search queries in Google. Letters can be reversed or omitted entirely; or adjacent letters on the keyboard can be mistakenly substituted. Instead of losing these visitors to other websites, drive them to your website by ranking highly for the misspelling.
Boost in traffic as a direct result of misspellings.
An advantage of using misspellings in your keywords is that they are typically cheaper to buy (PPC) and much less competitive (SEO) to achieve high rankings for.

Foe
Websites with grammatical errors or misspelled words looks unprofessional and can make visitors wonder about your professionalism.
Proofread, proofread, proofread - then have someone else proofread it for you!
Major search engines, such as Google, tend to offer an alternative word when confronted by a spelling error.
Misspellings look like you don't care enough about your website to ensure that these don't happen.
Whether or not the searcher typed the query correctly, they will not be impressed with a website that purposely misspells words.
Provide your visitors with a way to
contact you
with any comments about misspellings on your website.
